I have been teaching creative writing workshops for almost twenty years. I was the leader of the Creative Writing degree programme at the University of Greenwich in London and have a PhD in Creative Writing from Liverpool John Moores University. I have been Arts Editor of Polari magazine, the online arts and culture review, writing on visual art, literature, film and dance, and a Contributing Editor to the Paris-based Seymour Magazine. I currently work as a mentor and manuscript assessor reader for The Literary Consultancy, the UK’s foremost manuscript reading service. As a former performance poet I toured venues in the north of England and my short stories have been anthologised internationally. I now live in Lisbon.

Tenho ensinado oficinas de escrita criativa durante os últimos vinte anos. Fui o diretor da Licenciatura em Escrita Criativa da Universidade de Greenwich, Londres e tenho um doutoramento em Escrita Criativa da Liverpool John Moores University. Fui editor da revista Arts Polari, uma revista online de arte e da cultura, escrevendo sobre artes visuais, literatura, cinema e dança. Tenho contribuído como editor para a revista Seymour com sede em Paris. Trabalho atualmente como mentor e consultor de manuscritos para The Literary Consultancy, a empresa de leitura de manuscritos mais importante do Reino Unido. Como Poeta-performer, fiz várias apresentações no Norte de Inglaterra e os meus contos fizeram parte de antologias internacionais. Atualmente, vivo em Lisboa.
